Students who live in main-campus residence halls are required to have a meal plan, but many Vulcan Village residents and commuters appreciate the convenience of having fresh, healthful meals ready and waiting, without the hassle of shopping, cooking and cleaning up.
Meal plans can be used up to three times per day, during the breakfast, lunch, dinner or late-night meal periods. Choose the plan that fits you best; no refunds are given for missed meals. Bring in your used box when you are done, and we will replace it with a clean one! Lose your box? Boxes are available for purchase at the entrance of the dining hall. You may use as many Meal Swipes as you please per day at the residential dining facility. Do my flex dollars roll over? Yes, on-campus meal plans with flex dollars will roll over from the fall semester to the spring semester. Flex dollars do not roll over into the summer session, or from academic year to academic year. Any flex dollars not used by the last day of the spring semester will be forfeited. If you have an off-campus meal plan , flex dollars will roll over from the fall semester as long as you purchase a meal plan for the spring semester.
Can I pay for guests using my meal plan? Yes, for all student meal plans, you can use your flex dollars to pay for guests.
Can I change my meal plan? Undergraduate students living in the residence halls: May upgrade or change their meal plan through September 4, ; and for the spring semester from December 1, , to January 29, Changes to meal plans must be made by contacting the Cal Housing office via email at reshall berkeley. No other meal plan change requests will be approved outside of the official change period. Please note that the upgrade fee cannot be prorated.
